Elevation among highest in eastern Pennsylvania
IFormed from Rush Township in 1873, Kline is named for Judge Jacob Kline.

In 1856, before its official formation, the first coal was shipped from the township.

Its altitude is the highest in this section of the state, at some points more than 2,000 feet above sea level.

The Northeastern Power Co. co-generation plant is a
notable township operation.
