In the fertile Ringtown Valley
The fertile agricultural township, which surrounds the borough of Ringtown, was formed out of Columbia and Luzerne counties in 1818.

It was named after the union of the areas from which it was incorporated in 1833. Frederick Labenburg is believed to have been the first settler.
