A panel of judges, consisting of 10 people, is chosen from Schuylkill County. This panel attends and judges at four special events:

FASHION SHOW
JUDGES' RECEPTION
YUENGLING NIGHT
CORONATION PAGEANT

The contestants are judged on a point system from 1 to 5 in the following categories:

POISE, PERSONALITY, APPEARANCE AND PROJECTION.

With all points from the previous judging events being carried over to this final event.

At each event, the judges receive, from Mr. William Jones, C.P.A., a sheet consisting,, of only each contestant's name and space for his or her evaluation under each category. Each sheet has a blank cover sheet so each evaluation is private.

Immediately after each event, Mr. Jones collects all sheets. He tabulates the scores after which they are immediately locked away.

The night of the Coronation Pageant, as soon as all judges are seated in their reserved seats Mr. Jones once again distributes the sheets. This time the eight finalists’ names are encircled. One of these girls becomes the Winter Carnival Queen.
